Sun, dust, and a lot of handshakes: Voidweb at Reflect Festival

Some of the best business happens nowhere near a desk. In the spring of 2024, our CEO Erik Petrov packed a bag and flew to Limassol for Reflect Festival, the biggest tech and startup gathering in Cyprus and one of the few places where founders from Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa actually end up in the same room at the same time.

Two days at Kolla Factory. Four stages. Thousands of people who build things for a living. If you've been to one of these, you know the routine: back-to-back conversations, a badge that never comes off, and the specific kind of tired that only shows up after twelve hours of talking to genuinely interesting people.

Erik went as part of the Bulgarian delegation, and that's the part we want to say thank you for. This trip happened because of #BreakingGrounds, the initiative that's been quietly putting Bulgarian companies in front of the right international audiences instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own. Getting a seat at an event like Reflect isn't trivial when you're a company out of Plovdiv. BreakingGrounds made it easy, and more to the point, made it count.

So what did Erik bring home? A phone full of new contacts, a handful of conversations worth continuing, and a fresh reminder that Bulgarian tech punches well above its weight the moment it actually shows up. That last bit matters. For years the story was that we're a quiet outsourcing corner of Europe. Rooms like the one in Limassol are exactly where that story gets rewritten.

We'll be back, hopefully with a bigger table next time.

And to the whole BreakingGrounds crew: thanks for the push. See you at the next one.
